The 60's headquarters and keren Hayesod (the United Israel Appeal) are taking action towards the establishment of 60 playgrounds for children to be located at rundown areas. Keren Hayesod is in charge of the establishment of playgrounds and dedicates this important project to the State of Israel to celebrate 60 years of independence.

The facilities which will be set up in the 60 playgrounds will combine educational contents and the development of fine motoric skills. The operation and maintenance will be the responsibility of the local authorities.

The chairman of Keren Hayesod, Mr. Avi Pezner, said that the playgrounds will be the first of their kind in Israel. The playgrounds will be planned while emphasizing the development of developmental and educational values.

Keren Hayesod is currently developing the "Keren Hayesod playground" model which will be implemented in 60 local authorities and towns. The playgrounds will be established across Israel while the highest priority will be given to the geographic and social periphery of Israel. The playground and facilities will all be made in Israel.

The funds required for the playgrounds will be raised through a special donations operation which will be conducted among the Jewish communities in Europe, America, Australia and South Africa.

keren Hayesod - the United Israel Appeal (UIA) was established in the Zionist Committee in London in the year 1920.  The UIA operates according to the UIA law and has been raising funds for 88 years from 54 United Jewish Appeals, for the promotion of the state of Israel, the absorption of new immigrants and Jewish education in the Diaspora.

The allocation of the state's resources for the project "60 playgrounds for children" expresses the government's decision to place the benefit of the children of Israel at the highest priority of sixty years to Israel events.
